Sakurajima Guided tour in English♪【free plan】
Your 3-hour walking tour begins in downtown Kagoshima City. You will be met by a guide in the KWW (Kagoshima Wonderful Walk) office on the 2nd floor of Nishinihonshiroari Izuro Building. You will walk for about 20 minutes to Kagoshima port. Upon arrival, you'll travel by ferry for nearly 15 minutes to Sakurajima.
Sakurajima, one of Japan's most active volcanoes, rises over 1,000 meters above the waters of Kinko Bay. A number of large eruptions have taken place from this volcano over its history.
After you arrive at Sakurajima, you will walk to the Visitor Center and and see a video introducing how Sakurajima was formed and how people have lived with this volcano. There will be a guided tour of the museum. Then you will have a short walk along Nagisa Walking trail. The tour ends at the foot bath on the walking trail.
This guided tour will be a good opportunity to learn about past eruptions and their impact as well as the current status of Sakurajima.
