Join our friendly tour in English!
Spend your Saturday morning with Kagoshima locals to enjoy walking through town and exploring Japanese culture in depth. Immediately after you start walking, you will visit Terukuni Shrine, dedicated to Shimadzu Nariakira. It is a Shinto shine. You will learn proper manners to worship at a shrine. Then you will walk to the Nishi-Honganji Temple, a Buddhist temple. Further on, you will walk to the downtown area to visit a special shop, which sells Buddhist altars and Shinto altars as well as other accessories related to respective religions. On the other side of the street, is another special gift shop where betrothal gifts are sold. Your guide will explain what Japanese engagement ceremonies are like.
